Why this role matters
As a Non-Executive Director, you will contribute to the overall leadership, governance and strategic direction of the organisation. Working collectively with fellow Board Members, you will help ensure the organisation remains financially resilient, customer focused, compliant and aligned to its purpose.
Location
Home based, with regular travel to attend Board and Committee meetings, strategy sessions, training events, stakeholder engagement activities, site visits and other business-related commitments as required.
About you
We’re looking for someone who can bring significant experience and expertise in supported housing policy, regulatory frameworks, public policy development, and implementation to the Board.
The skills and experience you’ll bring:
- Strong understanding of the supported housing landscape.
- Experience influencing, developing, or implementing housing, social care, health, homelessness, or welfare policy.
- Knowledge of current and emerging regulatory requirements affecting supported housing providers.
- Understanding of local authority commissioning, funding mechanisms, and strategic housing responsibilities.
- Experience engaging with government departments, regulators, sector bodies, policymakers, and strategic stakeholders.
- Experience promoting sector interests through consultation responses, advocacy, research, or public affairs activity.
- Knowledge of quality standards, consumer regulation, safeguarding, and tenant outcomes within supported housing settings.
- Strategic insight into the future direction of supported housing.
