Waste and recycling

To keep your local area safe and clean, you must remove rubbish and waste from your home and have it ready for collection by the responsible local authority.

Your waste services will vary depending on whether you live in a house or bungalow – or a residential block with shared services.

Houses and bungalows

Most waste services are provided by your local council, and you can contact them for more information on:

If you live in a larger scheme, there are communal bins for household waste and recycling, which are collected by your local council.

If the bins are full and there isn’t enough space for your rubbish, please let us or your support team know.

To keep your home and neighbourhood safe and clean:

Always use the communal bins, never leave rubbish bags outside your door, in communal areas, or by the bin stores.

Keep bin stores closed to prevent pests, vermin, and fire risks. For large items, consider recycling or donating them to charities that offer collection services. Your local council may also remove certain items for a fee.

Fly-tipping is illegal. It can be dangerous, attract pests, and create a fire risk. Anyone caught fly-tipping may face a substantial fine. If you see fly-tipping in your area, report it to your local council.
