Asbestos is a natural substance made up of many tiny fibres.
It is like a fluffy rock!
It was once widely used in buildings because it helps keep heat in, reduces noise, and is resistant to fire.
When asbestos is in good condition and left undisturbed, it’s safe but if it becomes damaged or is disturbed the tiny fibres can be harmful if breathed in.
We carry out regular checks on older homes to make sure any asbestos is safe and well managed. If we find asbestos that needs to be removed we use specialist contractors who are trained to do this safely.
