Golden Lane Housing marks the NHF’s Starts at Home Day with MP visit

Today, Golden Lane Housing is proud to join housing providers across the country in marking the National Housing Federation’s Starts at Home campaign, which highlights the life-changing impact of supported housing.

Our CEO, John Verge, is meeting with Gideon Amos MP and visiting the homes of our tenants to show the vital role supported housing plays for people with a learning disability and autistic people. These visits are an important opportunity to demonstrate how a safe, secure and affordable home enables people to live independently, develop skills, and build their lives in the heart of their communities.

Supported housing provides so much more than bricks and mortar. For our tenants, it means stability, choice, and the chance to thrive. But we also know this type of housing is under increasing pressure and must be protected for the future.

That’s why at Golden Lane Housing, campaigning is a core part of what we do. Alongside our work as a landlord, we play an active role in the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network – a coalition of housing providers dedicated to influencing government and raising awareness of the urgent need for more and better supported housing. Together, we campaign for lasting change so that everyone with a learning disability or autism has the opportunity to live in a safe and suitable home.

Golden Lane Housing is proud to stand with our tenants, partners, and the housing sector to say: it all starts at home.
