The initiative saw colleagues from a wide range of teams swap their usual roles for a day of volunteering, rolling up their sleeves to help with planting, painting, and creating welcoming spaces. Resolve Solutions provided their expertise and support, ensuring the work was completed to a high standard.
The makeovers have introduced raised beds, fresh planting, and improved seating areas, giving tenants more opportunities to relax and spend time enjoying the outdoors.
Melissa O’Donnell, Director of Property and Sustainability, said:
“It was inspiring to see so many colleagues volunteering their time and working alongside our Resolve Solutions team. These garden makeovers highlight the care and commitment that everyone at Golden Lane Housing has for making sure tenants feel proud of their homes and outdoor spaces.”
To celebrate, garden tea parties were held where colleagues and tenants came together to enjoy the finished spaces. The day was filled with smiles, conversation, and a shared sense of achievement.
James, Golden Lane Housing tenant, said:
‘The Golden Lane Housing Crew have done an incredible, remarkable job to our lovely home in Cranleigh and my housemates and I can get involved with the garden because it’s very beneficial for wheelchair and walking frame access to get down the lovely path and do some planting with the staff.’
Barry Sully, Head of Resolve Solutions, said,
‘More than any other year, the Garden Makeovers in 2025 have been extra rewarding. Thank you so much to James Middleton, Vanessa McFarquar and Darren Adams and their team and the brilliant volunteers for making an extraordinary difference to our tenants lives.’
