Why should I get involved?
You know your home and where you live better than anyone. When you get involved, by sharing your ideas and experiences, you help us understand what’s working well and what could be better.
Getting involved is also a great way to:
- meet other tenants and share ideas
- build your confidence and learn new skills
- make a real difference to services and homes
- keep up to date with what is happening at Golden Lane Housing and tell us your views on our plans.
How much time will I have to give?
It’s completely up to you. We know everyone’s lives are different, so there are lots of things you can do and you can give as much or as little time as you want.
What can I expect from you?
When you get involved, we’ll make sure you feel supported and valued.
Our Tenant Experience Team will talk to you and help you find a group or activity that is right for you.
Most of our meetings take place online so you can join from home. If you come to a meeting in person, we can arrange travel and cover reasonable travel costs and refreshments will be provided.
Ways to get involved
Board and Tenants Working Together
This group is made up of both board members and tenants from our More Voices, More Choices.
More Voices More Choices
More Voices, More Choices is made up of 12 tenants from across England Wales and Northern Ireland. They meet 4 times a year.
Their goal is to make sure all tenants are getting a great service and are happy in their home.
Every member of this group has a rep role linked to a service area, for example repairs, rents, or housing.
Complaints group
We want to know what our tenants think about how we handle complaints.
Being part of our complaints group, you will work with Golden Lane Housing staff, to improve our complaints service. You will investigate real examples of complaints to share your ideas about how to improve the tenant experience.
Repairs group
By joining the repairs group you will get to learn about how we deliver our repairs service to tenants.
You will meet with members of our repairs team as well as other tenants to talk about your experiences and ideas.
Survey group
As a member of our survey group, we’ll ask for your views on a range of topics like repairs, communication, or how safe and comfortable your home feels. You can share your feedback online, by phone or by post, whatever suits you best.
We’ll use your feedback to help make improvements to our services.
Tenant Interview Panel
It’s important that tenants feel happy and comfortable with the people who work at Golden Lane Housing. By joining as a tenant interview panel member, you’ll help choose new staff who share our values, people who are caring, honest, reliable, creative and who listen to tenants.
You’ll take part in staff interviews and share your views on who you think will make a positive difference.
We’ll make sure you feel confident to take part and provide training to help you prepare.
Secret Shopper Detective
As a secret shopper detective, you’ll look into how we do things, like arranging a repair, answering a query, and you’ll share your views on what’s working well and what could be better.
You might take part in visits, talk to other tenants or review information online or sent to you in the post.
