We provide homes for people with a learning disability and autistic people, so feeling safe, respected and supported is especially important to us.
We are committed to protecting children and adults at risk from abuse, harm and neglect.
We work closely with tenants, families, local authorities and other partners to make sure the right support and protections are in place.
What is safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights so they can live free from harm, abuse and neglect.
This includes things like physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse, neglect, domestic abuse, discrimination, modern slavery and self-neglect.
If you’re worried about someone, even if you’re not sure, it’s always okay to share a concern.
How we can help
If you raise a concern, we will listen carefully and act promptly and sensitively. Where needed, we will work with other services, such as the local council, health services or the police, to make sure the right support is in place.
We record and follow up all safeguarding concerns, and we always aim to act in the best interests of the person involved, following the principle of Making Safeguarding Personal.
Share a concern with us
If you’re worried about someone’s safety or wellbeing, please tell someone you trust, like a family member, friend, or support worker.
You can also tell your Housing Officer or any member of Golden Lane Housing.

You don’t have to be certain but it’s better to raise a concern than not say anything.
