Anti-social behaviour includes things like ongoing noise, harassment, threats, vandalism, hate incidents, hate crime and domestic abuse. These issues can have a real impact on your wellbeing, and we understand how upsetting and frightening they can be.
If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour, we will listen to you, take your concerns seriously and take action to help keep you safe. We will work with you and, where needed, with the police, local authorities and support services to stop the behaviour and reduce the risk of it happening again.

What is anti-social behaviour
Anti-social behaviour is when someone acts in a way that causes distress, alarm or fear.
It can make people feel unsafe in their home or community. Examples include ongoing noise, harassment, threats, damage to property, hate incidents, hate crime and domestic abuse.
How to report anti-social behaviour
If something is happening that is making you feel unsafe, upset or frightened in your home or neighbourhood, please tell us as soon as you can. The sooner we know, the sooner we can help.
You can report anti-social behaviour in the following ways:
- By contacting your housing officer
- By calling our Tenant Experience team on 0300 003 7007 and select option 2
- By emailing us enquiries@glh.org.uk
- By writing to us Golden Lane Housing, Parkway 4, Parkway Business Centre, Princess Road, Manchester, M14 7HR
- Through a representative such as a friend, family member, advocate or support worker
When you contact us, it helps if you can tell us:
- what has happened
- when and where it happened
- who was involved, if you know
- how it has affected you
If you are reporting hate crime, hate incidents, threats or violence, we will treat this as urgent and contact you within 24 hours.
How we will support you
We will:
- take time during visits to understand how the behaviour is affecting you
- work with you, your representative and other organisations such as the police or social services
- agree an action plan with you so you know what will happen and when
- keep you updated at least every four weeks
How quickly will we respond?
We use clear timescales so you know what to expect:
- Hate crime, hate incidents, threats or attacks
We will contact you within 24 hours and visit you within 3 working days - Other anti-social behaviour (for example noise, disputes, untidy gardens or damage)
We will contact you within 3 working days and visit you within 10 working days
We will also report hate crimes to the police where appropriate.
Checking progress and learning from cases
To make sure we are doing the right things:
- housing staff will review the action plan with their manager every six weeks
- all reports of anti-social behaviour will be dealt with
- you will be sent a survey so you can tell us how well we supported you
