Congratulations to Andy Locke, housing officer and Duncan Sinclair, customer advisor repairs who were presented with the SPOT (Special Presentation Of Thanks) award this quarter.
This award is given to members of staff that have been recognised for going beyond their role to make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability, their support networks and staff.
Andy has delivered the right service to our tenants in challenging circumstances, developed partnership working and improving ways of working within the organisation. Throughout this time he worked with strong CORE values and put individuals with a learning disability at the heart.
Duncan joined the Golden Lane Housing team six months ago. During this time he has shown commitment to the organisation, and willingness to deliver the repairs service in a professional manner with a positive attitude towards customers and staff.
Andy Locke, housing officer said, “I was really pleased and surprised to receive the SPOT Award, in fact I was speechless!
I love being part of an organisation who want to make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability here and now. From both a personal and professional point of view, this is something I feel passionately about.
Seeing one on my tenants doing so well at our staff conference was a special moment for me!
I could not be successful in my work at Golden Lane Housing if I did not have some excellent support from my manager Marie Howorth and previously Sue Kruze. They have both supported and encouraged me greatly over the last year. Also, I have two very supportive and helpful housing officers in the North, Angela and Tom who keep me going!”
Duncan Sinclair, customer services repairs explained, “I am extremely flattered to be nominated for the SPOT award, I am grateful to GLH for providing me with the opportunity to make a difference to our tenants lives by dealing with their responsive repairs whether these are routine or emergency repairs.
Since being in post in August I have built up some strong relationships with tenants, support providers, families and contractors. This has allowed me to work well both independently such as this week or as part of a wider team and contribute in the delivery of the repairs service.
I love the challenge of the role and learning something new every day.”
