#HousingDay linked up and was part of Community Impact Week (#CIW15) from 16-22 November organised by the National Housing Federation highlighting the difference Housing Associations make to communities and the people that call them home.
Members of the Golden Lane Housing (GLH) team got involved during #CIW15 and our tenants, family members and support staff joined the teams at the office and in their homes on #HousingDay and told us why they are a #proudtenant.
Amy and Sean, GLH tenants and Amy’s parents, Michelle and Mark
They took part in the Development team meeting giving us ideas for our new Housing Requirements form, and worked with the Customer Services team on the next issue easy read issue of Voices Together. Joining Becky on reception they learned about her role and experiences of working at GLH.
“I’m a #proudtenant because I’m beginning my life together with Amy,” says Sean
Maria, GLH tenant
Maria spent the day with the Repairs team. She helped us with the preparation work for the in-house repairs team interviews, learnt what happens when a repair is reported and helped us to gain feedback from tenants.
Maria is building her confidence so she can report her own repairs. She really enjoyed the day and told us, “Duncan, it’s nice to put a face to the name on the Repairs Helpdesk.”
Alex and Christina, GLH tenants
Angela Kirkup, housing officer is helping Alex to find a job. She discussed how Mencap will be able to help him. Alex and Christina joined the Housing team where they discussed their service charges and gave ideas for easy read info. Gary French, finance manager talked to Alex and Christina about the work his team does and budgeting.
“I like my own property. I love being independent,” says Alex #proudtenant
“I enjoyed meeting everyone and giving my ideas,” says Christina #proudtenant
During Tenancy Reviews, Andrew Locke, housing officer has been finding out what tenants think about their home and our services using the ‘Thumbs Up’ or ‘Thumbs down’ approach.
Graham and Duncan have lived in their home for many years. When asked ‘Does the property still meet all your needs?’ it was given a ‘Thumbs up’.
A tenant gave the ‘Thumbs Up’ for the decoration work carried out by GLH’s in-house Repairs Services.
