Across the country we are taking on challenges to raise money for Mencap. Every year we help people with a learning disability by providing services and tailored housing to help them live the life they choose.
With a full range of events over the coming months, we and Mencap staff are taking part in a variety of fundraisers. Some people are setting themselves personal goals while others are joining forces with Mencap staff or others.
“We’re part of the Mencap family and I’ve worked for Golden Lane Housing for a long time. Over the years I’ve seen the huge difference we make to the lives of people with a learning disability. It’s a great organisation. I wanted to help raise money and decided to enter the 10K Bupa Great Manchester Run on Sunday 18 May 2014. As I’ve not run since my school days it’s a good challenge for me too. With the help of my personal trainer we’ve set a time, which I’m determined to beat!” says Angela Kirkup, housing officer.
