Golden Lane Housing tenants and their support are getting involved in developing our new repairs service launching in April 2015.
The new repairs team will undertake general repairs to our tenants’ homes across the North West, Greater Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Mansfield and Nottingham. The operatives will support our customers through the repairs process with the ability to diagnose defects with an emphasis on first time report resolution.
Mark Felton, maintenance and compliance manager explained, “A person’s home is important and that’s why we are continually looking at ways to meet the needs of people with a learning disability. The new repairs service plays an important role in the future and expansion of our repairs and maintenance team with our customer involvement. Our tenants and their support staff are integral to its development and have been involved across a variety of aspects, from reporting a repair through to giving feedback.
We’re starting with a small team of three multi skilled operatives that will be working in a select number of areas. To help support these changes we are also expanding our office-based staff by creating roles for a new part-time planned works administrator, customer advisor repairs and compliance officer.
We’re currently going through the recruitment process for the multi skilled operatives and office-based staff. It’s exciting times and we’re all really looking forward to the launch in April.”
