Golden Lane Housing partners Housing LIN on ‘go to’ Learning Disability and Housing webpages.

We are delighted to announce that Golden Lane Housing (GLH) has joined the Housing LIN’s family of sponsors.

GLH is the one of the country’s leading social housing landlords for people with a learning disability. Highly regarded for delivering quality services, they become the exclusive sponsor of our dedicated housing and learning disability online ‘knowledge hub’.

Segmented into a range of topic areas these ‘go to’ pages host tools, guidance and resources on everything from improving the range of housing choices for people with a learning disability, to capturing the latest practice, research and innovation on transforming design or access to care and support to improve the independent living choices of people with a learning disability.

John Verge, Golden Lane Housing’s chief executive said: “We are delighted at Golden Lane Housing to be sponsoring these Learning Disability pages. Housing LIN provide invaluable commentary and advice to support the delivery, development and improvement of housing for people with a learning disability. Golden Lane Housing’s vision is a world where everyone with a learning disability has opportunities to access good quality housing that meets their needs. We have been working for over 20 years to provide personalised housing solutions and influence positive change across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our partnership builds on a long running relationship, and we are excited in working together to share and encourage innovation and good practice across the sector.”

You can also watch John present on Day 4 of this month’s NHF annual conference (25 March at 1.20pm) and the session ‘Investing in homes and services to support people with learning disabilities’. The session will officially launch the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network Charter, which sets out their four actions for change:

• Government to create the conditions for growth of supply for people with a learning disability and autism.
• Government to create a more comprehensive and integrated national and local planning and policy framework for supported housing for people with a learning disability and autism.
• Amendments to the Rent Standard that supports the commissioning and development of new supported housing for people with high support needs.
• A long-term sustainable, consistent housing benefit regime for supported housing.

Read more about this in his blog ‘Why we must work together to provide quality housing and support for people with a learning disability and autism’. The Housing LIN is proud to be working with GLH and the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network to deliver on the Charter.
