Golden Lane Housing (GLH) and Mencap will be making an appearance at the first Be Free Festival in September 2014.
The event, which takes place 16-18 September 2014 at Gilwell Park Scout Activity Centre, Chingford in London, is a magical festival for people with and without a learning disability and set in beautiful countryside.
It promises to be a magical few days encouraging people to reflect on how they want to shape their lives. There will also be adrenalin filled activities, such as a zip wire and high ropes, and song writing workshops and a pamper zone.

People can stay for the whole 3 days where they can sleep in lodges or tents and try some exciting outdoor challenges, or just chill and relax around campfires.
GLH and Mencap will be running ‘Grand Design’ workshops that will enable people to design the right type of tailored housing and support. The two sessions will run on Wednesday 17 September 2014 at 10.40am–12.20pm and 3.00pm-4.40pm.
John Verge, regional business manager, south at GLH says, “GLH and Mencap’s attendance will give the opportunity to highlight our specialist housing and support services that allow people with a learning disability to live the life they choose.”
