During this landmark week, not only are we celebrating our bond offer reaching the £10m target early as it oversubscribed, we have found out GLH is one of six organisations to be shortlisted in the Social Investment Initiative category in the Charity Times Awards.
“We are delighted to be nominated as a finalist in the Charity Times Award and our bond has been recognised for its social and financial impact. There is a desperate shortage of housing for people with a learning disability and with monies raised through our bond we are able to provide specially adapted homes for hundreds of people in a location of their choice.
By developing a social impact assessment framework in partnership with Bangor University we are measuring the impact on the individuals, their families and wider societal and financial impacts.
We have shared our successful bond model with other third sector organisations for sustainable funding and considering a further bond issue ourselves,” Alastair Graham, director of Golden Lane Housing.
All the winners will be announced at the Charity Times Awards Gala Dinner which will take place on 16 October 2013 at the Lancaster London Hotel.
