Providing quality homes during COVID-19 by Abdul Latif, director of development

March 19, 2021

The past 12 months have been extraordinary. This global pandemic has changed the way we operate, unsurprisingly it has bought immense challenges that have tested the sector.

However, these uncertain times have also shown the resilience of our staff alongside their dedication and determination to help people with a learning disability. We have had to adapt to new ways of working, especially with how we communicate and continue to deliver excellent services to our tenants.

Despite the impact of the pandemic particularly on development activities, Golden Lane Housing has still met the business plan target of creating new tenancies for the 2020/21 financial year. I am extremely proud of the development team and our colleagues within the organisation who have contributed to this success; it is a great milestone, especially throughout what has been a truly difficult time.

Finding good quality personalised accommodation for people with a learning disability can be a challenge at the best of times, during the pandemic, even more so. Our staff continue to work hard to deliver new and innovative housing solutions which are pertinent to our core business and values. We have a number of products available that allows us to tailor the housing solutions for individuals and take a person centred approach.

Golden Lane Housing continue to strengthen our position in the market by working collaboratively with local authorities, support providers, landlords, families and other stakeholders. If you are interested in working with us then please contact us. We would love to hear from you!
