GLH recognised for paying colleagues a real living wage

Golden Lane Housing (GLH) is pleased to announce its status as an Accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that GLH is officially certified by the Living Wage Foundation as paying colleagues the real living wage – at least £10.90 an hour – and having a plan in place to pay our contractors a living wage. In comparison, the minimum wage is £10.19.  

  

Adele Currie, Director People and Culture, said: “We are proud to be now recognised as an Accredited Living Wage Employer, alongside over 13,000 other organisations in the UK who have made the commitment to pay their colleagues fairly.   

 

“The past few years have been tough for many households financially, following the impact of COVID-19 and the significant rise of the cost of living. My priority is to support colleagues at different stages in their lives, and I am now pleased to be able to reassure them that their wages while working for GLH will always remain above the minimum.”  

  

The Living Wage Foundation’s mission is to mission is to encourage employers to play their part in tackling in-work and post-work poverty and provide a decent standard of living by paying the real Living Wage, adopting Living Hours and Living Pensions as well as wider good employment practices.
