Golden Lane Housing complete stock transfer from Devon based charity

May 19, 2023

Golden Lane Housing has completed the first phase of an overall stock transfer of 11 services from The Gordon Carling Foundation who are a Devon based housing charity. The Gordon Carling Foundation was set up nearly 40 years ago by parents of individuals with learning disabilities to ensure that people with a learning disability living in South Devon have the opportunity to enjoy the widest possible independence and quality of life. Golden Lane Housing is one of the leading national housing providers for people with a learning disability and autistic people. We have nearly 25 years of experience in providing supported housing across England , Wales and Northern Ireland.

The stock transfer is a result of a strong strategic relationship developed between the two organisations over the last few years. The transfer will ensure that the 29 tenants who live in the properties will have a reputable and compliant housing provider delivering key specialist housing functions. The stock transfer will also mean Golden Lane Housing can make significant investment into the properties to further improve the quality, safety, and energy efficiency of these homes.

Ultimately the stock transfer will provide security of tenure to the tenants, and they can maintain their independence. It will also ensure that Devon County Council have longevity in service provision and property options for future referrals.

John Verge, Chief Executive of Golden Lane Housing said:
