Changes to rented housing laws in Wales

November 29, 2022

New rules by the Welsh Government will come into force on Thursday, 1 December 2022.  The new rules will improve renting a home in Wales for both tenants and landlords. They will only effect tenants living in Wales, and Golden Lane Housing (GLH) will be sending a letter out to all of these tenants to explain changes made, the main two being that tenants will become contract holders and their current assured shorthold tenancy will convert to a supported standard contract.

GLH tenants in Wales are reassured that these changes will not impact their tenancies and the services they receive from GLH.

If tenants or their support staff or families would like to discuss this further, they are advised to contact their Housing Officer.
