Statement from Golden Lane Housing in response to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II:

John Verge, Chief Executive of Golden Lane Housing, said: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

“As our nation’s longest reigning monarch, she has dedicated her life to public service and to raising awareness of many good causes and charities, including The Royal Mencap Society- a charity close to our organisation and one which members of The Royal Family have been and continue to be patron of. Rest in peace Your Majesty, and thank you for your commitment, selflessness and service.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to The Royal Family. We will now support a period of public mourning.”
