Golden Lane Housing welcomes new members to its Board

May 10, 2022

Golden Lane Housing (GLH) is pleased to welcome two new Board members and a Trainee Board Member to its Board of Non-Executive Directors. The new members join the GLH team following its de-merger from Mencap, a charity which supports people with a learning disability, and their families and carers.

Jonathan Bunt, Co-founder and Director of Beehive Affordable Homes – a housing company that bridges the gap between housing associations with homes to sell and local authorities with homelessness pressures – and Bernie Keenan – Deputy Chief Executive of Progress Housing Group and Chief Operating Officer of Reside with Progress – a provider of housing for people in the UK with a learning disability, autism, and acquired brain injury or a mental health condition – join as new Board Members and Shareholders. Kirsty Garrett, a Director of Debt and Capital Markets at Lloyds Banking Group joins GLH as a Trainee Board Member.

John Verge, Chief Executive of GLH, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonathan, Bernie and Kirsty to our Board of Non-Executive Directors. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in the housing sector, most importantly, they share our vision for a world where everyone with a learning disability or autism has opportunities to access good quality housing that meets their needs. We hope that they enjoy working with us as we begin our journey being standalone housing association.”

Warren Bradley, Director of Legal and Governance and Company Secretary of GLH, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our Board of Non-Executive Directors and Trainee Board Members and to be bringing even more knowledge and talent to our Board. It’s vitally important that GLH supports the bringing forward of new talent in the sector and our Board is pleased that with Kirsty’s appointment our trainee programme has expanded. We look forward to working with them closely and drawing upon their expertise to realise our ambition to make the organisation the best place to work and to have the greatest impact we can.”
