Harry Couper, business finance officer at Golden Lane Housing is raising money in aid of the Autistic Society Greater Manchester Areas (ASGMA) who gives valuable support to both his sister and the family.
Having a member of the family with autism finding the right support is paramount.
ASGMA has provided brilliant support for my sister and my family from their centre in Stretford. They provide an amazing social environment to enable people to build relationships, which particularly for people with autism social interaction can cause distress.
Going to places like aspirations has vastly increased her confidence and taught her many life skills, so much so she is currently looking to live independently. With thanks to ASGMA my sister has got a great group of friends and a network of support outside the family.
On 6 October I will be running the Tough Mudder North West 2013. The course is around 13 miles with over 25 obstacles. I have been training tirelessly for the past six months with a group of old school friends who will be completing the course together with me.
Any money raised will help ASGMA and projects like Aspirations continue to provide fantastic opportunities and support to those who need it. Thank you to everyone who is able to donate.”
