Staff, partners and friends dressed in a nautical theme shared a fun evening on the Princess Katherine cruise along Salford Quays.
The night began with a quiz that was won by the Customer Services Team, followed by the singers on the Karaoke. Cheers from the crowd chose the best dressed sailor which went to Harry Couper, GLH’s business finance assistant.
Steve Mason, DJ entertained everyone with great party tunes before the winners collected their raffle prizes including hampers and various other delights.
Carol Conaghan, customer services advisor and a member of the fundraising group explains, “Knowing that all the funds are going towards a great cause and seeing Mencap’s amazing work, I know they really do make a difference in empowering and changing the lives of people with a learning disability.
As a regional office we are arranging a variety of activities to raise money, the Princess Katherine Cruise is just one of them. It was a great evening and opportunity to have fun with friends and colleagues whilst sharing a common goal in raising as much money together.
It has been a pleasure being able to raise funds for Mencap. As a Girls’ Brigade Captain my fundraising usually surrounds events for children raising money for children, so it has been rewarding to be able to focus on adults in the community with a learning disability and help to arrange activities for such a great charity.”
