Support for tenants

Our tenants well-being is an integral part of what we do.

As a landlord we recognise that we are not statutorily responsible for our tenants’ well-being. We achieve this by working closely with tenants and their support network to help them achieve the type of life they want.

Golden Lane Housing provides specialist landlords services to support our tenants.  We do not provide personal day to day care and support for tenants –this is provided in a GLH home by a separate support provider.
Services we provide to our tenants include:

  • Liaison, counselling and advocacy.
  • Support to keep safe and build independent lives.
  • Support and advice on finances.
  • Ongoing support to maintain a tenancy.
The local authority social services departments are responsible for assessing an individual’s personal support needs. It will either commission an agency to provide care and support or alternatively tenants may be offered direct payments and arrange their own care and support.
We work with a variety of agencies to make sure that everyone moving into a GLH home receives the correct amount of care for their needs. Approximately 50% of our tenants are supported by Mencap.
