Cornwall project
Aiming to provide innovative and bespoke housing solutions.
GLH aims to provide innovative and bespoke housing solutions for people with a learning disability across Cornwall in consultation with individuals, families, loved ones and carers.
By working together with our partners, we plan to increase the choice of housing options available in Cornwall and enable 200 individuals with a learning disability to access safe and stable homes of their choice that meet their current needs and around which they can build their lives.
Following the Healthcare Commission’s report of abuse and mistreatment of people with a learning disability in Budock long stay hospital in Cornwall and the death of Stephen Hoskin at St Austell, we believe the commitment of our resources, time and dedicated staff to Cornwall will help people with a learning disability live in dignity safe from harm and abuse.
We are currently in discussion with a number of individuals with learning disabilities, parents, carers and professionals and are working on the development of a number of housing solutions. If you would like to share or discuss an idea with us please feel free to get in touch contact us.
