Investors in People
In November 2009 GLH received Investors in People (IIP) recognition. An independent assessor appointed by West Midlands Quality Centre Ltd undertook a rigorous assessment of GLH against the IIP indicators during a visit to our Manchester office in October.
The assessment was based on written evidence provided to the assessor; and also face-to-face or telephone interviews with nearly a third of the staff working for GLH.
The assessor’s report highlights many strengths and examples of best practice evident within GLH including:
- The undoubted passion of everyone working for GLH being clearly demonstrated and visible
- Focused, innovative recruitment and staff development linked to core values
- Unique set of personal competences, clearly linked to practical understanding and hence achievement
- Effective talent management through individual personal development, use of projects and additional responsibilities
- Clear encouragement and focus on continuous improvement
- Exceptional management support
- “Whole team” ethos both within and across teams which drives sharing, mutual trust and support
A continuous improvement action plan has been prepared in collaboration with the assessor based on the recommendations contained within the report.
