Golden Lane Housing is a nominated finalist in the Social Enterprise Awards 2013 for our £10m charity bond.
“We are delighted to be nominated as a finalist for the Social Investment Deal category in the Social Enterprise Awards 2013.
The Golden Lane Housing bond is making a tremendous difference to people with a learning disability up and down the country by providing the much needed housing.
We have spent or committed £8m of bond monies housing 80 people with a learning disability in high quality properties specially adapted to enable them to live independently, and we have a pipeline of schemes to spend the full £10m by the end of this year. Through our joined up approach we are working with closely with individuals, families, Mencap and local authorities.
As people move into their new home we are continuing to monitor the social impact on individuals and families through an assessment framework and the financial impact on the public purse. The findings will be available next year.
Moving into 2014 we are hoping to develop a further bond to enable us to provide more of the desperately needed homes for people with a learning disability,” Alastair Graham, director of Golden Lane Housing.
All the winners will be announced at the Social Enterprise Awards ceremony which will take place on 27 November 2013 at LSO St Lukes in London.
